A student stands in the school yard in front of a mural depicting the image of Chechen presiden Ramzan Kadyrov after the Last School Bell ceremony marking the end of the school season is held at a recently opened new school repaired and funded by Chechen president Ramzan Kadyrov administration. When the school which is officially called the Presidential  Lyceum, first opened last year it immediately became the most prestigeous and popular school in the entire Chechnya.

A family of Zaira Dovletbayeva, 27, mother of four, has just moved in an apartment in a new residential  buidling recently erected in Grozny. There is no heating, running water or gas supply inside yet. But people are already moving in. Like many other new tennants Zaira praises president Ramzan Kadyrov and says that they are happy to have their own roof over their heads after a decade of living in shelters.

In the city of Grozny where only a few years ago rare cars were struggling with broken roads and a new and only traffic light was a landmark and general attraction in town now taxi cabs are in abundance same as traffic lights and even traffic jams.

The center of Grozny now looks like a huge construction site, piles of construction materials, construction equipment and holes and communication trenches in the ground.
